New Public Alerts Dataset

We are pleased to announce another useful addition to our catalog of available datasets. PublicAlerts.org recently underwent a major upgrade to make it more robust, mobile-friendly, and easier to manage. As part of this release, we are now making available the real-time feed of alerts that the site uses to inform our residents of time-sensitive events that could effect their daily lives.

The new PublicAlerts.org was built on the open-source Drupal 7 platform, and utilizes the Twitter Bootstrap responsive layout framework to deliver its information in a mobile- and tablet-friendly way. We hope to make the site structure and theme available to other regional emergency management agencies as soon as possible, so that they can use this tool to easily aggregate and broadcast alerts from a variety of sources with minimal direct management to the site, pulling information from Twitter, as well as other RSS feeds.

As always, feel free to take advantage of this feed and create your own application, or, use it to stay on top of what's happening across the region.

We look forward to your feedback, and are proud to make this new PublicAlerts dataset available to the greater Portland community.
